Residents Council

The Residents Council is established to facilitate effective communication between residents and management, and provide suggestions for improving the quality of care and enhancing the quality of life. The Council has the mandate to inform residents of their rights and obligations under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.

At Hillel Lodge, the Residents Council plays a vital role in addressing significant issues, fostering open dialogue between residents and management. The Council focuses on gathering suggestions to enhance the quality of care provided, serving as a valuable platform for residents to connect, share experiences, and voice their opinions.

Participation in Council meetings is limited to residents, with the exception of the Resident and Family Advocate, who facilitates smooth operations. The Council meets monthly, typically on the third Thursday. Residents are encouraged to attend, discuss ideas and concerns, and express their views. Meeting minutes are posted on the resident information board for everyone to review.

The Residents' Council is for the residents, by the residents!
