Great plans begin not with answers, but with listening. The development of the new Strategic Plan 2026-2031 for Hillel Lodge began with a simple commitment: to hear from the people who matter most.
Over an extensive period of consultation, we engaged a wide and meaningful range of voices. Residents shared what brings comfort, purpose, and joy to their days. Families described what trust looks like when someone they love calls Hillel Lodge home. Volunteers and community members offered perspectives shaped by deep connection to our mission. Staff at every level brought insight from the heart of daily care. And our Board of Directors provided the governance wisdom and strategic lens that shaped the plan's foundations.

GOAL 1: Residents Live Their Best Lives
Every resident deserves to feel known, valued, and empowered. We are elevating the standard of person-centred care by creating daily experiences that honour individual stories, support autonomy, and nurture connection. Through excellent care, meaningful programs, trusted relationships, and a deep commitment to dignity, we are shaping a long-term care model where residents not only live — they thrive.
GOAL 2: Meet Evolving Needs Through Innovation and Leadership in Quality
We are committed to leading through innovation as we remain at the forefront of long-term care by continuously learning, evolving, and improving. By embracing research, applying new knowledge, and building innovative models of care, we will advance the quality of care and services and improve the experience of residents and staff.

GOAL 3: Build a Thriving and Empowered Team
Our people are our strength. We will nurture a culture where every team member feels supported, valued, and proud of the difference they make. Through learning opportunities and a shared spirit of compassion, we will create a workplace where purpose and innovation thrive together. Central to this goal is the Hillel Lodge Academy — a hub for staff learning, growth, and innovation that will offer additional training and support to ensure care remains safe, consistent, and of the highest quality.
GOAL 4: Expand Community Engagement
Hillel Lodge is both a home and part of a community. We will build on our strong connections to create new partnerships, strengthen intergenerational ties, and enrich how residents, families, and supporters experience belonging.
