Dedicate a Leaf on the Tree of Life
As you enter the main lobby of the Bess and Moe Greenberg Family Hillel Lodge, you are greeted by a beautiful Tree of Life, commissioned from celebrated Ottawa sculptor and artist Ralph Durdin.
A leaf on the Tree can be dedicated for many reasons, whether to honour and remember a family member or friend who has passed, or to commemorate one of life's special milestones, such as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, anniversary, or milestone birthday.
By dedicating a leaf on the Tree, you are making a charitable donation to the Hillel Lodge LTC Foundation and will receive a charitable tax receipt. Your gift makes a positive difference in the lives of Hillel Lodge residents.
Ready to dedicate a leaf? Click below to complete your donation online. Once your donation is received, we will be in touch with an engraving proof for your approval and to make arrangements for you and your loved ones to gather at the Lodge to place the leaf on the Tree.
Yahrzheit Plaques
It is a Jewish tradition to commemorate the passing of a relative or loved one with a Yahrzheit plaque. The Bess and Moe Greenberg Family Hillel Lodge has dedicated an area near the sanctuary to memorialize those who have departed. Nameplates or plaques are inscribed with the English and Hebrew names of the departed along with the date of death in both the Hebrew and standard calendar. Beside each plaque is a memorial light, which is lit annually on the Yahrzheit and Yizkor services. By placing the name of a loved one on a plaque, you are marking their passing and making a positive impact to benefit the residents of Hillel Lodge.
