Legacy

There are ways to structure your will to ensure that your family is cared for, and when they no longer need your wealth, your favourite charity will benefit.

The Canadian government has created valuable tax incentives to encourage Canadians to leave legacy gifts. When you leave a legacy gift through your will, your estate receives a tax receipt for the full value of the gift, which adds a tax credit to your final income tax return. This can help to maximize the value of your residual estate for your beneficiaries, including your kids.

At the Hillel Lodge Foundation, we believe that everyone should have a will, and it's important to prepare it with the guidance of both a lawyer and a financial advisor. Including a charitable gift adds a few minutes to those conversations and just a few sentences to the will.

Yes, you simply need to specify in your will that you wish to remain anonymous. The Foundation will respect the gift as well as your wish for privacy and will not disclose your identity or that of your Estate. You can contact us at lsher@hillel-ltc.com or call 613-680-1197.
