MANDATE
Our mandate is simple yet important… We are dedicated to improving the lives of residents of Hillel Lodge and making every day a little brighter.
Functioning autonomously, the Auxiliary provides services and raises funds needed for the many extras that bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents.
•A committed group of energetic volunteers who donate their time to help create an atmosphere to celebrate birthdays and Jewish holidays such as Sukkot, Chanukah and Purim.
•Annually, the Auxiliary supports special projects such as:
•With In-person visits to residents
•By providing flowers on Shabbat and gifts for Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day, to name a few.
•By fundraising
The Telethon is the main annual fundraiser for the Auxiliary of Hillel Lodge. It is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to help improve the lives of the Residents. Our Telethon starts early in May and continues until the end of June, or once we have reached our full donor list.
Over the years, projects funded include comfortable armchair for resident's room, new mattresses and bed lifts, refurbishing two lounges/family rooms on the 3rd floor, and supporting the new Dream Garden. Our special priority for this year is the renovation of the second floor west lounge and a few special extras. Our other annual funding goes to the upkeep of the fish tanks, provide fresh flowers on Shabbat, support Monthly Birthday parties and a free haircut as a birthday gift, provide money for the bingo winnings, gifts for Mother's Day, Father's Day and special holidays.
